As is noted with much of the Audi lineup when mentions of new models are echoed, changes are not vastly significant but are enough to characterize the new model as ‘new’. The bonnet incorporates more character and purpose with its streamlined creases. The grill is slightly larger that its predecessor and now has a more temperamental and aggressive look. Tweaks are further extended to the front end bumper of the A8 as well as the headlight clusters. As expressed above, there will be optional headlights which incorporate Matrix LED technology which Audi state is a high beam function and uses 25 light emitting diodes per unit that can be switched on or off or dimmed individually. Slight revisions have also been made to the rear light clusters.

Options is the already superb A8’s cabin include ventilation and massage functions for the front seats. Four zone automatic conditioning also optional as well as various assistance systems to assist the driver such as adaptive cruise control, active lane assist and night vision assist.

The engine lineup for the A8 will include seven petrol and TDI options which are all mated with a standard eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. A Quattro all-wheel drive is also available.

Audi claim that the supercharged 3.0 TFSI petrol engine now has 231KW from 216KW and the 3.0 TDI diesel produces 190KW.  The V8 twin-turbo 4.0 TFSI pushes out a whopping 320KW and the 4.2 TDI in the lineup is said to produce 283KW. The 4.0 TFSI Quattro all-wheel drive achieves a 0 – 100km/h dash in 4.5 seconds

Audi’s S8 4.0 TFSI produces a more impressive 382KW and will flatten the 0 – 100km/h sprint in 4.2 seconds.
